Getting high shield block value (coupled with redoubt and holy shield) for some encounters means paladins can just sit back and laugh whiling dropping a consecrate and have 5-6 mobs pummel them - while your group just drops some good old fashioned lazy aoes. Paladins have a unique taunt for pulling more than two mobs making them ideal of AoE tanking. While warriors are probably the better choice for raids, paladins flourish in heroics and AoE focused encounters (like many in ZA). Virtually all tanking plate is also tailored towards warriors. Because of this warriors are the natural choice for MTing raids. They have good mobility and are not resource starved in most fights(unlike paladins). Warriors can dispel or prevent themselves from being feared, which still happened frequently during TBC (encounters like Nightbane).
Stance dancing opens up alot of extra tools for Warriors that the other classes may not have. Shield Slam and devastate (2.4.3 version) are probably the best single target tanking tools in the game. As a Monk, they also supply Mystic Touch which will increase physical damage to their target by 5 percent.īrewmaster Monks are not incredible at sustaining themselves and will require a decent healer to be as effective as possible.Warriors are uncontested for single target tanking, they have the best all round mitigation and threat at end game and especially at higher raid tiers (although paladins are underrated in these departments too). While other classes rely on blocks or parries, they stagger incoming damage to hit them over 10 seconds instead of having it all hit instantly.
